That’s important to us
Sustainability as a passion - we not only advise on responsible business practices, we practice this in our everyday lives. We are a non-profit company and place high demands on ourselves. Thanks to our transparent criteria and holistic approach, tourism companies can integrate sustainability into their corporate structure on a long-term basis.
Our system can be adapted to any tourism company and is always accompanied by intensive assistance and support during certification. Those interested in travelling will also find information for a more conscious holiday and will be sensitised to how they can make a positive contribution to all those involved with their holiday.
In our broad network of partners and members of the TourCert Community, we bring together all relevant players in the tourism industry, including tour operators, hotels and entire destinations. The members benefit from the advantages, events and know-how and pursue a common goal with us: to make travel sustainable, socially and environmentally compatible.
Whether fair, green or gentle travel - we offer an understandable definition and examples for the implementation of sustainability in tourism. With this knowledge all participants can be engaged and independently contribute to responsible travel. By linking ecological, social and economic goals, we enable alternative travel offers.
For us, sustainability means quality. This applies both to us and to our certified tourism companies. TourCert unites specialists from tourism, science, environment, development and politics. With over 10 years of experience, we are experts in professional consulting and have developed a whole range of reliable standards for certification.
Collaborative Online Audit System
With our project "Collaborative Online Audit System", we are dedicating ourselves since December 2019 to the development of an industry-wide uniform standard for audits, validated on the basis of international guidelines, in order to make the impacts of certified companies in tourism verifiable and comparable.
Becoming sustainable is not easy. It requires not only new methods, but a new way of thinking. A fundamental tourism turnaround. This transformation of tourism can only succeed with the cooperation of all stakeholders involved. The collaborative and committed work towards the tourism turnaround is the basis for this project.
Excellence Initiative Sustainable Destinations
Sustainable tourism involves much more than just the conservation of resources. The Excellence Initiative Sustainable Destinations consists of destinations that pursue the goal of sustainable development and together shape the tourism of tomorrow.
Our projects are very diverse and usually last several years. But they also have an end – at least on paper, because we carry on the achievements and developments from the project even after the end of the project. Here we show you which projects we have already successfully completed.
