Summary of developments, international projects and events

The Activity Report 2018 summarizes our success within the past year. We report on the further development of the certification with around 90 new members and further sustainable destinations beyond the borders of Germany.

The report also provides information on the exciting new challenges we are facing in the areas of child protection and voluntary tourism. We also highlight our commitment through the new ISTO membership as well as the cooperation within the framework of the fairwärts competition for innovative travel offers.

In addition to the activities in Latin America on community-based tourism and a program to train sustainability managers in tourism, TourCert also accompanies a destination in the Caribbean, specialized in biodiversity, as well as the Danube project, along the river Danube. The report also gives an outlook on the ongoing activities in Uganda and Cuba.

You will also find information about our further training opportunities – both online and as seminars.

We are happy to look back on an exciting time with interesting events and trade fairs. Last year we were present at the ITB Berlin 2018 and held the 6th TourCert Forum in Frankfurt am Main for our community. If you would also like to learn more about the planned Excellence Initiative, you can read about it in our report or inform yourself about the first network meeting here.
